‘It’s Now for Nature’ campaign gains momentum with 26 nature strategies published and new Accelerator programs
L’OCCITANE Group, Natura &Co and Orsted are among the latest companies to publish dedicated nature strategies through the It’s Now for Nature campaign. Meanwhile, a new Accelerator program has been launched to equip all businesses with the necessary skills to develop their first nature strategy.
Although momentum on nature is growing - with global initiatives such as the TNFD and SBTN picking up pace across the corporate world - more must be done to ensure business plays its crucial part in implementing the Global Biodiversity Framework. Now is the time for every company to create a nature strategy – a roadmap of how it will contribute to building a nature-positive world by 2030.
The latest strategies shared through It’s Now for Nature come as the UN Biodiversity COP16 - the ‘implementation COP’ - takes place in Colombia and are key in encouraging businesses of all sizes and sectors to step up their actions for nature.
The business case for nature action
By developing credible strategies that assess and reduce their multiple impacts and dependencies on nature, businesses can boost their resilience while creating long-term value and strengthening climate and sustainability goals. The 26 pioneering companies who have so far shared their nature strategies through It’s Now for Nature are demonstrating how nature action can drive innovation, enhance reputation and create new market opportunities.
Taking action at all stages of the nature journey
While different businesses have different levels of readiness and capability when it comes to addressing their nature-related impacts, it is crucial that all corporate leaders understand the need to act now.
"The planetary crisis requires us to act with urgency, and we don’t have time to hatch the perfect plan. However, many companies will already have enough knowledge to take some ‘no regrets’ actions, and having an imperfect strategy is much better than having none at all".

The It’s Now for Nature Accelerator
To empower more companies to step up, no matter where they are on their journey, ‘It’s Now for Nature’ now offers Accelerator programs, which provide the essential tools, methodologies and practical learnings needed to develop a credible nature strategy. Hosted by a Business for Nature partner and drawing on the Nature Strategy Handbook, each Accelerator program will gather cohorts of committed companies and provide them with subject matter expertise to conduct robust materiality assessments, set science-based targets, define priority actions and secure C-suite or board level approval.
"The more companies can share and learn from each other, the quicker they can develop their own strategies and avoid having to start from scratch. Progress is better than perfection – let’s get moving".
