We are looking for an experienced Global Engagement Senior Lead to join our international team and help grow Business for Nature’s impact. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multi-stakeholder team, and through this role you will be directly exposed to the decision-making process and strategy of the organization.

This is a high-impact role for a strategic thinker and doer who excels at collaborating with others. To be successful, you will need strong project and people management skills to coordinate multiple workstreams and drive key stakeholders towards desired outcomes. You will also need some technical knowledge of nature and business to contribute to partners’ efforts on nature advocacy and action. The ability to synthesize insights, develop engagement tools, track progress, and deliver high-quality outputs is essential.

We work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. You need to be comfortable working autonomously, with the ability to lead projects from inception to completion.  As a member of a small team operating across the world, you should feel comfortable working virtually.

Title:  Global Engagement Senior Lead, Business for Nature

Reports to: Head of Global Engagement, Business for Nature  

Term: Permanent position, ideally starting Q3 2025

Location: We are a virtual team so you can be based anywhere providing you have the right to work there. You will need to travel occasionally

Position: Full-time  (part-time arrangements also negotiable)

Salary range: $US55,000 – $US70,000, depending on location, for full-time position

This is a good-faith range based on a full-time (40 hour/week) employment contract. Salary may vary based on number of hours worked, local market and experience. The range listed is one component of the total compensation package for employees.

The Global Engagement Senior Lead will fulfill the following functions:  

Lead the implementation and coordination of the Global Engagement strategy   

  • Actively contribute to the development and lead the implementation of Business for Nature’s Global Engagement strategy.  

  • Lead the coordination of partner and business participation in key nature moments such as COPs etc. 

  • Lead the monitoring of engagement outputs and propose adjustments for desired outcomes.   

Lead internal coordination to ensure smooth execution of engagement priorities  

  • Work closely with the Advocacy team and Regional Leads to ensure engagement plans support global, regional and national advocacy priorities.   

  • Line manage Global Engagement Associate(s). 

  • Design and maintain standardized processes that ensure coordination and implementation of engagement is effective and efficient in collaboration with the Advocacy team. 

  • Develop and manage risk mitigation strategies and tools to manage specific stakeholders. 

  • Ensure the full team is equipped to engage with our key stakeholders effectively. 

  • Coordinate the Global Engagement team contributions to internal progress reports, including to funders. 

Lead stakeholder relationships and technical support for partners  

  • Represent Business for Nature in external engagements.  

  • Lead the coordination of partners and business advisors to explore strategic opportunities to align on priorities.  

  • Lead the business engagement plan to ensure simplified business engagements, including signposting key resources from partners. 

  • Oversee new partner engagement and onboarding process.  

  • Contribute to reviewing technical support and input to feed into key partner tools, frameworks and other resources. 

Qualifications, skills and experience 

Required: 

  • At least 7 years’ experience in strategic stakeholder engagement roles. 

  •  Experience in project and people management, including monitoring and evaluation. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills including a capacity to track details.

  • A graduate degree in environmental management, economics, sustainable development, communication, political sciences, or any other relevant field. 

  • Sufficient technical knowledge on nature and business, including key nature frameworks such as the global biodiversity framework, Science-Based Targets for Nature, Taskforce on Nature-Related Disclosures, etc.

  • Excellent English written and oral communications skills particularly to convey complex ideas, thoughts and concepts for a general and business audience in a compelling and concise way. 

  • Experience of working with a corporate audience, particularly on sustainability. 

  • Experience of working in a multi-stakeholder environment. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

  • Strong sense of responsibility for taking projects from inception to completion.

  • Excellent public speaking, communication, networking and relationship building skills with an ability to influence and inspire others.

Beneficial but not essential: 

  • Proficiency in other languages would be beneficial.

  • Experience using Zoho would be beneficial.
